Welcome to our website!

The Greater Fox Valley of Illinois Chapter #2042 is a social ballroom dancing Chapter serving northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Our group was officially established as a USA Dance, Inc. Chapter in January 1997. Our monthly dances are open to the public. You do not have to be a USA Dance member to attend. We are a nonprofit organizaton.

Over the past 12 years our Chapter has grown and continues to grow. We currently have well over 120 active members.

Our monthly dances feature a digital stereo sound system, a syllabus containing a list of songs with the recommended dance and free cake, coffee and door prizes.

A free dance lesson begins at 7:30 pm and is included with the admission. Open dancing starts at 8:00 pm and continues for 3 hours until 11:00 pm.

Our dress code is dressy casual (no gym shoes or blue jeans) unless an announcement is made for a special or "theme dance".

Admission is $8/person for USA Dance members, $12/person for non-members and $10/person for seniors 65 and older.

Greater Fox Valley Chapter Dances Moved to McHenry VFW in May 2009

The Greater Fox Valley IL Chapter's monthly dances moved to the McHenry VFW's Normandy Room beginning with the May 16th dance. The new location was a hit with all of the attendees! The VFW has many great features: The dance area is much larger than at our previous dance location, the Dole Mansion, and offers more seating. There is a full-service cash bar available as well as a wide variety of food you can purchase for a minimal price. And as always, coffee and cake are provided free of charge. 

Our next dance, "Move It Merengue", will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009. Doors open at 7:00 pm. The dance will be held from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm with a free merengue lesson at 7:30 pm. Open dancing will start at 8:00 pm and continue until 11:00 pm. We will have free cake, coffee, prizes and suprises. A variety of ballroom dance music will be played by DJ Dr. Rod. The dress code is dressy casual, no gym shoes or blue jeans. Admission is $8/person for USA Dance members, $12/person for non-members and $10/person for seniors 65 and older. For more information call (847) 639-8699.

Best of Ballroom Formal Dinner Dance A Success!

Our formal dinner dance held in September 2006 was a HUGE success. The location was The Lakeside Legacy Arts Park, home of the historic Dole Mansion in the Sage Gallery. We sold out our available 78 spaces and a great time was had by all. The Vito Buffalo Orchestra was featured and the sound through the sound system was just fantastic.
